#writetobeheard – Love in the times of Covid19, is a new online initiative that my niece Izabella Yena (actor and performer) and I, launched on 24 March 2020. Despite our generational gap, we are partners in crime on many fronts and share a love of writing, theatre, cinema and creative expression. As Covid-19 began to take over all aspects of life we were inspired to find a way to gather people’s everyday experiences of isolation and distancing. The #writetobeheard project was born in the hope that it would become a platform for everyone’s story to be heard. People from around the world are invited to participate, with the aim of creating a chronicle of our lives in the times of Covid-19. Fiction, non-fiction, poetry as well as visual expressions are welcome. Submissions are published online by #WriteToBeHeard – Love in the times of Covid-19 and shared across socials.
